The world is changing at an increasingly rapid pace. To prepare for major structural shifts and adapt to their impact, we need to boldly and swiftly rethink our core principles.
Malmö Generate District exists to accelerate sustainable innovation and development together with businesses, academia, and other innovation actors who share our drive to tackle the complex challenges of our time, both locally and globally.
To enable fair growth and diverse transformation, we are establishing Malmö Generate District – a microcosm of companies, organizations, and individuals advancing innovation, creativity and sustainability – together.
Malmö Generate District creates connections where others see boundaries. We are the glue between business, academia, startups, and the public sector – a collaborative arena for
co-creation and sustainable innovation.
We curate and facilitate processes towards shared goals. We highlight and amplify the innovation power that already exists. We break down silos and open up new arenas for collaboration.
Malmö Generate District ensures more people can access the innovation economy – regardless of background, industry, or perspective.

Together, these layers form an integrated and including ecosystem that collects, connects and strengthens innovation across Malmö.
NEWS
Malmö Generate Impact is a collective project, led by the City of Malmö, Malmö University and Minc.
The project focuses on strengthening Malmö’s capacity for impact innovation and creating new ways for people and organizations to connect, share ideas and try new solutions to complex societal challenges.
Malmö Generate District, Minc and MAU are developing innovation environments, testbeds and digital and physical interfaces that make resources, knowledge and opportunities more visible and accessible.
The long-term ambition is to strengthen Malmö’s innovation ecosystem and create better conditions for entrepreneurs, companies and organizations to develop and scale new sustainable solutions together.

The City of Malmö is the initiator of Malmö Generate District, a strategic initiative supporting the city’s sustainability ambitions.
